A fresh political storm appears to be brewing in Maharashtra as the Uddhav Thackeray-led Shiv Sena (UBT) faces the prospect of another major split in its parliamentary ranks. According to political sources, six of the party’s nine Lok Sabha MPs have reportedly aligned against the leadership and are preparing to stake claim as a separate parliamentary group in New Delhi. The MPs whose names are being linked to the reported rebellion include Sanjay Deshmukh, Nagesh Bapurao Patil Ashtikar, Sanjay Haribhau Jadhav, Sanjay Dina Patil, Bhausaheb Rajaram Wakchaure, and Omraje Nimbalkar. Sources indicate that the group could meet Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla to formally communicate its position and seek recognition as a distinct bloc in Parliament. Adding momentum to the speculation, reports suggest that Omraje Nimbalkar has already reached Delhi from Pune aboard a private aircraft. Political observers view his arrival as a significant development amid discussions of an organized shift within the party. The emerging narrative suggests that once the parliamentary process is completed, the rebel faction could move toward a merger with the Shiv Sena led by Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde. Such a development would mark another significant chapter in the prolonged political realignment that has reshaped Maharashtra politics over the past several years. Meanwhile, discussions continue over whether additional MPs may join the rebel camp. While the name of Rajabhau Waje has surfaced in political conversations, statements attributed to him indicate that he remains committed to Uddhav Thackeray and has no immediate plans to switch sides. With meetings, negotiations, and strategic consultations reportedly underway in Delhi, all eyes remain on the national capital as Maharashtra’s political landscape faces the possibility of another dramatic transformation.
