A massive fire broke out at the Himalayan Cold Storage facility in the Chinhat area of Lucknow on Friday morning, prompting an extensive emergency response from the fire department. Thick black smoke engulfed the surrounding locality as multiple firefighting units rushed to the scene to prevent the blaze from spreading to nearby structures. According to fire officials at the site, the blaze was first reported early in the morning, after which local fire stations immediately deployed personnel. As the intensity of the fire increased, specialized firefighting equipment, including an Articulated Water Tower (AWT) and hydraulic platforms, was dispatched from Hazratganj to assist in the operation. More than half a dozen fire engines have been engaged in the firefighting effort, continuously spraying water from multiple directions. Officials stated that the fire appears to be concentrated in the lower sections and rear portion of the cold storage building, making access difficult for firefighters. The structure’s layout and limited entry points have further complicated rescue and containment operations. The exact cause of the fire remains unknown, and authorities have not yet confirmed whether any casualties or injuries have occurred. Fire crews continue working to bring the situation under control while ensuring the safety of nearby residents and preventing further damage. An investigation into the origin of the blaze is expected once the fire is completely extinguished. Local authorities have urged people to stay away from the affected area as emergency operations continue. The incident has drawn significant attention due to the scale of the fire and the deployment of specialized firefighting resources to tackle the emergency.
