Muzaffarpur Gang Clash: Murder Accused Gunned Down in Fresh Wave of Violent Retaliation

Muzaffarpur witnessed another violent chapter in its ongoing struggle with gang-related crime after Govind Choudhary, an accused in the murder cases of former mayor Sameer Kumar and property dealer Ashutosh Shahi, was shot dead in a targeted attack. The incident occurred on Amar Cinema Road when Choudhary was reportedly returning home late at night. According to preliminary information, Choudhary had stepped out of his vehicle and was walking toward his residence when motorcycle-borne assailants intercepted him and opened fire. The attackers allegedly fired multiple rounds before fleeing the scene. Choudhary was rushed to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared him dead. Police officials say the attack took place around 10 p.m. and that multiple teams have been formed to investigate the case. Authorities have yet to identify the shooters or establish a clear motive behind the killing. No arrests have been reported so far. Investigators noted that Choudhary had a criminal history and was facing several cases. He had reportedly been released from jail only a few days before the shooting. His connection to previous high-profile murder cases has fueled speculation that the attack could be linked to ongoing gang rivalries or acts of revenge, although police have not officially confirmed any such angle. The killing has once again highlighted concerns about recurring gang violence in Muzaffarpur and the challenges faced by law enforcement in preventing retaliatory attacks. As investigators examine surveillance footage, witness statements, and possible criminal links, the case is expected to remain under close public and administrative scrutiny.
