Heavy rainfall has brought Mumbai to a standstill, with widespread waterlogging and disruption reported across the city. Continuous rain has submerged key areas such as Lower Parel, Matunga Road, Dadar, Wadala, Vasai-Virar, and Mahalaxmi, severely affecting road traffic and daily movement. Vehicles were seen crawling through flooded streets, while several low-lying areas experienced water entering homes and shops. Railway services were also impacted as tracks at Wadala and Dadar were submerged, causing delays and disruption in local train operations. In Ghatkopar, a tree fall damaged multiple parked vehicles, while in Navi Mumbai, a balcony slab collapse led to panic. Along the Coastal Road, intense rainfall combined with strong winds of 30–40 kmph and rough sea conditions created extremely low visibility, making travel dangerous. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a red alert for Mumbai and surrounding regions, warning of continued heavy rain and high tides. Authorities have urged citizens to avoid unnecessary travel and stay indoors for safety.
