Maharashtra Mourn: Thousands Gather in Baramati for Maharashtra Deputy CM Ajit Pawar’s Final Darshan

Thousands of supporters, party workers, and citizens have gathered in Baramati to pay their final respects to Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar. His mortal remains were brought from his ancestral home at Katewadi Farm to the Vidya Pratishthan ground for the last rites. Public viewing for last darshan began early in the morning, with long queues stretching across the ground as people from Baramati, Pune, and nearby districts arrived. Citizens expressed deep grief and admiration, calling Ajit Pawar a visionary leader, committed to farmers, the poor, women’s empowerment, and cooperative development. Many recalled his personal engagement with local communities and his dedication to Baramati’s development. Political leaders including Raj Thackeray, Ritesh Deshmukh, Maharashtra cabinet ministers, and NCP and Congress legislators attended the funeral. The procession moved slowly through the streets where Ajit Pawar had begun his political journey, allowing people to pay tribute. Maharashtra Police organized security and ceremonial honors, including a police salute and band performance. Priests performed the ritual, and cremation was scheduled for 11:00 AM with full state honors. Emotions ran high as citizens watched the procession, paying homage to the man affectionately called “Ajit Dada,” whose legacy in Maharashtra politics and public service is being widely mourned.
