Magh Mela: Triveni Sangam Witnesses Sea of Faith on First Snan of Magh Mela

A massive surge of faith was witnessed at the Triveni Sangam in Prayagraj as the first bathing festival of Magh Mela, Paush Purnima, commenced. Despite intense cold, devotees began taking holy dips at the confluence of Ganga, Yamuna, and Saraswati from the early Brahma Muhurat. The Magh Mela this year has been expanded across 800 hectares with elaborate arrangements for pilgrims. Security has been strengthened with 17 police stations, 42 police outposts, and deployment of police and paramilitary forces. Special facilities have been provided at bathing ghats to ensure convenience for devotees. Kalpwasis have also arrived in large numbers, beginning their month-long spiritual retreat with faith and devotion.
