Lucknow Tension: Pasi Fort Dispute Escalates as Protesters Confront MP RK Chaudhary

Tensions flared in Lucknow’s Malihabad area as the dispute surrounding the Pasi Fort escalated, drawing members of the Lakhan Army to the residence of Samajwadi Party MP RK Chaudhary. The group submitted a memorandum and engaged in a heated exchange with the MP, leading to slogans and visible confrontation during the interaction. Protesters associated with the Pasi community and Lakhan Army expressed strong objections over claims related to the use of the fort site, asserting that they would not allow religious activities such as offering prayers at the location. The group also sought support from political and community leaders, demanding clarity and intervention on the issue. According to the protesters, the site holds historical and cultural significance linked to Pasi rulers and is believed by them to be associated with heritage structures. They argued that the area represents ancient legacy and should not be reinterpreted in a way that conflicts with their historical claims. During the protest, members of the group raised slogans and attempted to press their demands directly before the MP, stating that elected representatives should openly address the issue. The situation briefly became tense as both sides exchanged words over the sensitive matter. The Lakhan Army members also stated that they had previously supported political representatives through votes and now expect them to raise their concerns at appropriate forums. They emphasized that the issue is not only cultural but also deeply connected to community identity and historical recognition.
