A shocking revelation has emerged in Indore’s contaminated water case, exposing serious lapses by the Municipal Corporation and Mayor Helpline 311. Despite being responsible for ensuring clean drinking water, officials allegedly ignored hundreds of complaints and forcibly closed them without resolution. In December 2025 alone, over 450 complaints related to water issues were registered, but only a small fraction were resolved, while many were shut under pressure. Internal notes reveal that despite budget approval in January 2023 for replacing pipelines in Bhagirathpura, no work was carried out for nearly three years. Residents continued consuming polluted water, allegedly mixed with sewage, leading to more than 15 deaths and several hospitalisations. The findings raise questions of criminal negligence and accountability of officials and elected representatives.
