Who is Maduro’s son ‘prince’ Nicolas Ernesto Maduro Guerra, also charged by US for drug trafficking?

Who is Maduro's son 'prince' Nicolas Ernesto Maduro Guerra, also charged by US for drug trafficking?

Nicolas Maduro’s only son Nicolas Ernesto Maduro Guerra has also been charged by the US for drug trafficking. The indictment referred to Guerra as ‘prince’ and this is the first time that he has been dragged as the 2020 indictment did not name him. It did not name Maduro’s wife, either. Guerra’s mother Adriana Guerra Angulo was Maduro’s first wife.35-year-old Ernesto, also known as Nicolasito, has been charged with conspiracy to import cocaine and possession of machine guns and destructive devices. The indictment alleges that Maduro “sits atop a corrupt, illegitimate government that, for decades, has leveraged government power to protect and promote illegal activity, including drug trafficking.” The drug trafficking, according to the indictment, has enriched Maudro’s family, including his wife and son, who is a member of Venezuela’s National Assembly. The indictment said Maduro, his wife, son and other three named partnered with narcotics traffickers and narco-terrorist groups” that were sending cocaine from Venezuela to the United States through countries like Honduras, Guatemala and Mexico.

Who is Maduro’s son?

Born on June 21, 1990, Maduro’s son is a member of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela. His entry into politics took place at an early age. In 2013, when his father became the president, he was appointed to lead the special presidential inspections. He also became the head of National Film School and is a deputy to the National Assembly of Venezuela. Nicolasito is also a musician. “Venezuela repudiates and denounces the grave military aggression by the government of the United States of America, which constitutes a flagrant violation of the Charter of the United Nations in its articles 1 and 2, which enshrines respect for the sovereignty, the legal equality of States and the prohibition of the use of force,” Maduro’s son said in a statement after his father was captured by the US force.
