The outgoing Chief Minister has stated that he and his cabinet will continue as a caretaker government until the new Chief Minister is sworn in and a new council of ministers is formed, as directed by the Governor. He thanked the Governor for guidance during the previous five years and confirmed the transition process is underway. On the NDA side, senior leaders JP Nadda and Nayab Singh Saini have been appointed as observers by the national leadership to oversee the selection of the new legislature party leader, who will become the next Chief Minister. After the legislature party meeting, the NDA will formally stake claim to form the government. The oath-taking ceremony is expected after May 11, with preparations underway and the Prime Minister invited to attend. The final leadership decision will be completed after the internal party process is concluded.
