A massive fire broke out at a three-storey shoe showroom in Rajasthan’s Kota, triggering panic after flames rapidly engulfed the entire building. Thick smoke and intense flames spread through the structure, where a family and several tenants were living on the upper floors. Trapped residents cried for help as the fire intensified, prompting an immediate rescue operation. Emergency response teams reached the spot quickly and evacuated all occupants through the rooftop of a neighbouring building. Fortunately, everyone was rescued safely, preventing any loss of life. Seven fire tenders battled the blaze for more than two hours before bringing the fire under control. Preliminary investigations indicate that a short circuit may have caused the fire. While there were no reported casualties, the blaze caused extensive damage to the building and destroyed the showroom’s inventory along with household belongings of the residents. Authorities are assessing the extent of the losses and conducting a detailed investigation into the incident. The timely rescue operation and swift response by firefighters helped avert a major tragedy despite the scale of the fire.
