A major accident was reported from Chandigarh where three LPG cylinders exploded inside a residential building in Sector 45, triggering panic in the area. According to reports, four people were injured in the powerful blasts. The explosions were so intense that nearby walls developed cracks and the sound was heard from a considerable distance. Residents rushed out of their homes as chaos spread across the neighborhood. Fire brigade teams quickly reached the spot and managed to control the blaze before it spread further. Local residents alleged that illegal LPG refilling and black marketing activities were being carried out inside the building. They claimed several gas cylinders had been stored in a closed room, increasing the risk of a disaster, especially amid extreme summer temperatures touching around 45°C. Witnesses said injured people were immediately shifted to nearby medical facilities with the help of locals and police. Residents have now demanded strict action against illegal gas cylinder refilling operations to prevent similar accidents in the future.
