ED Raids In Ranchi And Delhi Over Land Scam, Heavy Rains Wreak Havoc In Maharashtra And Bengal

Two major developments have gripped the nation today. In Jharkhand, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) is conducting simultaneous raids at nine locations in Ranchi and Delhi. Six premises in Ranchi and three in the national capital are under the scanner in connection with a multi-crore land scam linked to Kanke block. According to officials, prime accused Kamlesh Kumar and his aides, in collusion with circle officers, allegedly prepared forged land documents and sold properties illegally, generating huge illegal profits. The case was registered under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) in 2024, and today’s raids target properties linked to Kumar’s key associate B.K. Singh and others.Meanwhile, nature’s fury has created a humanitarian crisis in parts of Maharashtra and West Bengal. In Marathwada, torrential rainfall has claimed at least seven lives. In Parbhani, the army has been called in for relief and rescue operations, while Beed and Dharashiv continue to battle flood-like conditions. In West Bengal, heavy downpours in Kolkata and adjoining areas left large parts of the city waterlogged. Streets turned into rivers, houses were inundated, and electricity-related mishaps caused the death of seven people. The sudden shift in weather has paralyzed daily life, leaving citizens struggling amid widespread damage.
