Delhi Red Fort Blast: 8 Victims Identified, DNA Test to Confirm Dr. Umar’s Involvement

In a major development in the Delhi Red Fort blast case, authorities have identified eight of the twelve victims whose bodies were severely damaged in the explosion. The identification process, which posed a major challenge due to the condition of the remains, was carried out at LNJP Hospital. Officials confirmed that DNA testing is underway for the remaining four victims to establish their identities. One of the key DNA analyses involves matching samples from Dr. Umar Mohammad’s mother, as investigators suspect that he was inside the i20 car that exploded. His DNA samples, collected from Jammu & Kashmir, have been sent to Delhi for sequencing, and results are expected within 24 to 48 hours. A confirmed match would verify his role in orchestrating the blast. Meanwhile, security across India has been heightened following the explosion. Border areas, particularly in Rajasthan’s Sri Ganganagar region adjoining Pakistan, have been placed on high alert. BSF posts have been directed to intensify surveillance and vehicle checks, while major public spaces such as railway stations and bus terminals are under strict monitoring. The NIA and Delhi Police continue to coordinate with forensic teams to piece together the full conspiracy behind the Red Fort car blast.
