Delhi Car Blast Investigation Intensifies; Doctor Umar Farooq, Wife Under Agency Radar

The investigation into the November 10 Delhi car blast continues to intensify, as authorities trace every movement of the suspect, Dr. Umar Faruk. CCTV footage from Aruna Asaf Ali Marg confirms the suspect’s i20 vehicle traveling through key locations before the explosion, including a mosque and the Red Fort parking area. Delhi Police have collated over 50 CCTV footages, reconstructing the timeline from his entry into Delhi via Badarpur border around 8:00 AM until the blast at 6:52 PM. Meanwhile, in Kashmir, counter-insurgency teams conducted raids at Dr. Umar Faruk’s residence in Kulgam and his office at the Super Specialty Hospital, where he worked as a cardiologist. His wife, also a doctor, is under scrutiny for alleged involvement in radicalization activities. Agencies are examining electronic devices, documents, and other materials recovered during the raids. The inquiry has extended to Uttar Pradesh, where Dr. Shaheen and her brother, Dr. Parvez, are being questioned regarding their connections to the network. Dr. Parvez’s past internship in Ayodhya has also drawn investigative attention. The NIA will reportedly probe further in Ayodhya. Officials stress that every lead, no matter how small, is being pursued to dismantle the network and prevent any future attacks.
