Dehradun: ‘I Love Mohammad’ protest: 300-400 demonstrators, baton charge, situation now Under Control

In Dehradun’s Patel Nagar area, tensions rose after a controversial social media post about Prophet Mohammad went viral. On Monday, a large crowd of around 300–400 people gathered in the streets, blocking roads from Lal Pul to Patel Nagar. Authorities arrived promptly, and the police used a baton charge to disperse the demonstrators. The crowd had initially tried to approach the Brahmapuri area, feeling their concerns were ignored. Additional police were deployed across the area to maintain law and order. The situation is now under control, and key protesters, including Gulshan, have been arrested. Officials emphasized that prompt action prevented potential escalation and ensured public safety.
