CONTROVERSY DEEPENS: NHRC Issues Notice to I&B Ministry Over “Ghuskhore Pandit”

The controversy surrounding the web series “Ghuskhore Pandit” continues to intensify. In a major development from Uttar Pradesh’s capital Lucknow, the Hazratganj police have registered an FIR against the director and the production team of the series. The case has been filed on charges of attempting to disturb social harmony. According to officials, the content of the web series allegedly contains elements that could inflame communal sentiments. The issue has now drawn national attention, with the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) issuing a notice to the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, seeking details regarding the matter. The web series is scheduled for release on the OTT platform Netflix, which has further fueled the debate. Authorities are currently examining the content, while the investigation into the role of the makers is underway. The controversy has sparked strong reactions across political and social circles.
