Constitution Day: “Our Constitution is the document of our national identity”, says President Murmu

On the historic occasion of Constitution Day, President Droupadi Murmu addressed all Members of Parliament and the people of the nation, expressing heartfelt happiness for being among them. He recalled that on 26 November 1948, the members of the Constituent Assembly had adopted the guiding principles of India’s Constitution social, economic and political justice, liberty, equality, and fraternity. She said it is a matter of pride that today’s Parliamentarians have successfully given practical shape to the vision of the Constitution-makers. Highlighting the strength of India’s democratic system, She noted that the nation is rapidly becoming the world’s third-largest economy. After independence, one of the biggest reforms for economic integration the Goods and Services Tax (GST) was implemented. By removing the provisions under Article 370, obstacles in the path of national political integration were eliminated. She added that a nationwide period of remembrance is being observed, which marks a renewed resolve to make Bharat prosperous, empowered, and self-reliant. He expressed confidence that this collective resolve will continue to inspire all members. “Our Constitution is the document of our national identity,” she said, extending warm greetings to all the esteemed members on Constitution Day and conveying his best wishes to all citizens for the future.
