In a decisive victory, the United Left alliance achieved a clean sweep in the Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) Students’ Union elections, securing all four major posts. The results reaffirm the dominance of Left-backed student organizations in the prestigious university’s political landscape. Aditi Mishra from the All India Students’ Association (AISA) emerged victorious as the new President, marking a significant milestone for the student wing. The post of Vice President was claimed by K. Gopika from the Students’ Federation of India (SFI), while the General Secretary position went to Sunil Yadav. Danish Ali was elected as the Joint Secretary, completing the Left’s comprehensive win. The elections witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, reflecting their continued faith in the Left alliance’s leadership and policies. The victory is being viewed as a strong statement against right-wing student groups, underscoring the Left’s enduring influence in JNU’s political sphere. The newly elected office bearers have pledged to focus on academic freedom, student welfare, and inclusive campus policies in the coming term.
