Amid continuing post-election unrest in West Bengal, the state unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party has strongly denied any involvement of its workers in recent incidents of violence and vandalism reported across several districts. BJP state president Sukanta Majumder stated that the individuals involved in the clashes are not party workers, but rather part of internal conflicts within the All India Trinamool Congress. He alleged that what is being witnessed across the state is a result of factional disputes within TMC, which are now manifesting as street violence. According to Majumder, rival groups within the ruling party are engaged in internal power struggles, and in some cases, individuals are allegedly misrepresenting themselves as BJP supporters while carrying out attacks. He further claimed that such incidents are being wrongly projected as BJP-led violence. The comments come in response to allegations made by TMC leadership, including senior party figures like Abhishek Banerjee, who have accused BJP workers of targeting party offices and carrying out large-scale vandalism, including incidents involving bulldozers and destruction of property. Visuals from multiple locations in West Bengal have shown damaged offices and heightened tensions between party supporters, further intensifying the political blame game between the two sides. While both parties continue to trade accusations, law enforcement agencies remain on alert as investigations into the violence continue across the state.
