Breaking: Police fired upon in Sandeshkhali, 3 security personnel injured

Tension has escalated once again in Sandeshkhali in West Bengal after reports emerged of firing on police personnel during a law-and-order operation. According to initial inputs, three security personnel sustained injuries after being shot at during an incident that took place while a police team was responding to a local disturbance. The situation reportedly turned violent when the police reached the area to control unrest. During the operation, unidentified individuals opened fire on the security team, leading to injuries among three officers. The exact identity of the attackers has not yet been confirmed, and investigations are currently underway. Following the incident, additional police forces and central paramilitary units have been deployed in the region to bring the situation under control and prevent further escalation. Security has been tightened across sensitive pockets of North 24 Parganas as authorities attempt to restore order. The incident has once again drawn attention to recurring tensions in Sandeshkhali, an area that has seen multiple security-related concerns in recent times. Senior officials are monitoring the situation closely, and forensic and intelligence teams have been dispatched to gather evidence from the site. The West Bengal Police, along with central forces, is conducting a detailed investigation to determine the sequence of events and identify those responsible for the attack. Further details are awaited as the situation remains sensitive and under active surveillance by security agencies.
