breaking: Sudhanshu Trivedi Slams TMC, Calls SC Decision a Setback; Questions Punjab Police Action

Bharatiya Janata Party spokesperson and Rajya Sabha MP Sudhanshu Trivedi has reacted sharply to the recent observations of the Supreme Court of India in a matter involving the Trinamool Congress, stating that the decision reflects both political and moral questions over the opposition party’s intent. Trivedi alleged that the petition filed by the TMC reflects “political frustration” and a lack of trust in constitutional institutions. He further claimed that the Supreme Court’s stance strengthens the credibility of constitutional bodies like the Election Commission of India and raises questions over the opposition’s approach to electoral processes. In his remarks, he also extended criticism beyond the court matter, referring to an alleged incident involving the Punjab Police. He claimed that an attempt was made by Punjab Police to conduct a raid at the residence of a Member of Parliament, Sandeep Pathak, questioning the law-and-order situation in the state. Trivedi further alleged that Punjab is facing deteriorating security conditions, citing issues such as drug-related crime, attacks on law enforcement premises, and security concerns in sensitive locations. His comments were aimed at highlighting what he described as governance failures in the state administration. The remarks come amid heightened political exchanges following the Supreme Court’s refusal to pass any directive in the TMC-related petition, which ruling party leaders have interpreted as a validation of the Election Commission’s procedures. Opposition parties, however, continue to raise concerns over electoral fairness. The developments are expected to intensify political debate between the ruling party and opposition in the coming days.
