A stampede-like situation broke out during the final of the Jharkhand T20 Cricket League at the JSCA International Stadium Complex in Ranchi, leaving at least five people injured. The incident occurred at the stadium’s west gate when a large number of spectators tried to enter simultaneously. Since there was no entry fee for the final match, an unusually large crowd gathered, leading to overcrowding and chaos. According to officials, spectators broke through barricades at the west gate, while disturbances were also reported at the north gate. Several people lost their footwear and belongings in the rush. Authorities stated that four to five injured individuals were receiving medical treatment, and the situation was later brought under control. Meanwhile, in Dhar, Madhya Pradesh, a separate incident unfolded after rumours spread that a local Imam Bara had been permitted to reopen for six days ahead of Muharram. The misinformation led to a crowd gathering near the site and brief sloganeering. Officials later clarified that no such court order had been issued and that the next hearing was scheduled for June 25. Police and administrative teams dispersed the crowd peacefully and increased security in sensitive areas.
