Breaking: Noida Police Files Case Against Two RJD Spokespersons Over Alleged Fake Video Post

In a major development from Uttar Pradesh, police in Noida have registered a case against two national spokespersons of the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), Kanchana Yadav and Priyanka Bharti, in connection with allegations of sharing a misleading video on social media. According to police officials, the action has been taken following an investigation into online posts related to a reported incident of worker unrest. Authorities claim that certain videos circulated on platforms such as X (formerly Twitter) and Instagram were not related to the incident in Noida, but were still shared in a way that allegedly misrepresented the situation. The Noida Police stated that the circulation of these videos contributed to the spread of misinformation and potentially created confusion among the public. Based on this, a case has been registered under relevant sections related to spreading rumours, damaging public order, and harming institutional reputation. Officials further added that a detailed monitoring of social media activity was carried out after reports of unrest, during which multiple accounts and posts were identified for scrutiny. The FIR against the two RJD leaders is part of this broader action against alleged misinformation. At present, no official response has been issued by the accused spokespersons or the RJD leadership. The investigation is ongoing, and further legal proceedings will depend on the evidence collected by the authorities. The case has also triggered political reactions, with debates expected to intensify over the use of social media, accountability, and freedom of expression versus misinformation control.
