Breaking News: Rajya Sabha Witnesses Walkout as Opposition Protests Rahul Gandhi’s Lok Sabha Silence

Rajya Sabha proceedings today were disrupted as opposition members staged a walkout, protesting that Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi was allegedly not allowed to speak in the Lok Sabha. The walkout reflects the continued tension between the ruling party and the opposition, which has escalated since the Budget Session began. According to sources, the opposition has also planned a demonstration outside Parliament to highlight their grievances. The session saw senior opposition leaders like Mallikarjun Kharge raise concerns about parliamentary decorum and the inability of the Prime Minister to participate in discussions on the Motion of Thanks to the President’s Address in the Lok Sabha due to earlier disruptions. BJP leaders, including JP Nadda, responded by emphasizing that confidentiality must be maintained regarding sensitive discussions, including references to the former Army Chief General Naravane’s book, which has been a trigger for disputes. Sources indicate that an India Bloc meeting at Kharge’s office strategized to protest when Prime Minister Modi addresses the Rajya Sabha. Meanwhile, opposition members expressed that unless Rahul Gandhi is allowed to speak in the Lok Sabha, they would continue their protest in both Houses. The standoff underscores the deepening divide in Parliament, with tensions between the ruling party and the opposition affecting the smooth functioning of both Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha.
