A high-level meeting is currently underway at Defence Minister Rajnath Singh’s residence regarding the security arrangements for the NEET examination, according to sources. The meeting is being attended by Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, senior officials from the National Testing Agency (NTA), representatives of CBSE, and other top government functionaries. Sources indicate that the discussion is focused on strengthening the examination security system in the wake of previous concerns over paper leak incidents. The government is reportedly reviewing measures to make the entire examination process more secure and tamper-proof, ensuring transparency and fairness for millions of candidates. A key point under discussion, as per inputs, is the possibility of involving additional security forces, including reports that the Army may be considered for handling certain aspects of question paper security and logistics. However, there has been no official confirmation on the operational role or extent of such involvement so far. Officials are also examining coordination mechanisms between civil education bodies and security agencies to prevent any breach in the examination process. The emphasis remains on restoring confidence among students and ensuring smooth conduct of the upcoming NEET examination. The meeting is still in progress, and further details are expected once deliberations conclude. Government sources have indicated that a final framework on exam security may be announced after the consultation process is completed.
