Breaking News: Raghav Chadha quits Aam Aadmi Party, joins Bharatiya Janata Party citing toxic culture

In a significant political development, Raghav Chadha has formally ended his long-standing association with the Aam Aadmi Party and joined the Bharatiya Janata Party. In his first detailed response after the move, Chadha addressed supporters and critics, explaining the reasons behind his decision. He revealed that before entering politics, he had a promising career as a chartered accountant, which he left behind to contribute to public life. As a founding member of AAP, Chadha said he dedicated nearly 15 years of his youth to building the party. However, he expressed disappointment, claiming the party has undergone a transformation and no longer reflects its original ideals. According to Chadha, the internal environment had become “toxic,” where leaders were allegedly restricted from speaking freely or contributing effectively, even in Parliament. He further alleged that the party is now controlled by a few individuals prioritizing personal gains over national interest. Chadha explained that he faced three choices: quitting politics, staying back to attempt reforms, or moving to another platform to continue public service. He chose the latter, emphasizing his commitment to “positive politics.” Notably, he stated that six other Members of Parliament joined him in leaving the party, suggesting a broader internal dissatisfaction. Reassuring his supporters, Chadha affirmed that his focus on raising issues affecting ordinary citizens will remain unchanged. He added that his new political platform would enable him not only to highlight problems but also to actively implement solutions.
