Breaking News: Protests Spread Across India Over Alleged Attacks on Hindus in Bangladesh

Protests over the reported attacks on Hindus in Bangladesh have expanded beyond the national capital, with demonstrations being held in several cities across India. Visuals emerging from Delhi, Siliguri, Jammu, and Hyderabad show large gatherings of protesters demanding protection for minority communities in Bangladesh and urging stronger action from the Indian government. In New Delhi, activists from organizations including the Vishwa Hindu Parishad and Bajrang Dal gathered outside the Bangladesh High Commission. Protesters waved national and saffron flags, raised slogans, and burned effigies to register their anger. A significant number of women also participated in the demonstration. Banners reading “Save Hindus” and “All Eyes on Bangladesh” were prominently displayed. Similar protests were reported from Siliguri in West Bengal, Jammu, and Hyderabad, indicating growing nationwide concern over the situation. Demonstrators alleged that Hindus are being selectively targeted in Bangladesh and called upon the Indian government to intervene diplomatically and raise the issue at international forums. Following the killing of a Hindu youth in Bangladesh, public anger has intensified, prompting heightened security measures around diplomatic establishments. In Delhi, multiple layers of barricading were put in place by police. Some protesters managed to breach initial barricades, but authorities prevented them from moving closer to the High Commission. Delhi Police confirmed that no permission was granted for demonstrators to submit a memorandum inside the High Commission. Officials appealed for calm and stated that the situation remains under control, with security agencies continuing to monitor developments closely.
