Breaking News: Parliamentary proceedings suspended till 12 PM amid protests

Lok Sabha proceedings were suspended until 12:00 PM due to a ruckus by opposition MPs. Congress and Samajwadi Party members created a commotion in the well, ignoring repeated appeals from Speaker Om Birla to maintain decorum. The disruption occurred during the Question Hour. Earlier, NDA MPs held a meeting where they praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for India’s recent trade deals, including the US trade agreement and pacts with the European Union, New Zealand, and 39 other countries. The PM highlighted the benefits of these deals for Indian industries such as textiles and manufacturing, emphasizing that India’s strategic interests and economic growth were safeguarded. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman also briefed MPs on the budget, explaining measures taken to ensure benefits across all sectors. Modi urged all MPs to communicate the importance of these trade agreements to their constituencies. The session is expected to resume at noon with further discussions on these agreements.
