In a major development, Mumbai Police has arrested the main shooter, identified as Ritik, in connection with the firing at filmmaker Rohit Shetty’s residence. With this arrest, a total of six accused have been apprehended in the case from Rajasthan and Haryana. The firing incident took place on February 1, after which the Mumbai Crime Branch launched an intensive investigation. Earlier arrests were linked to individuals who allegedly provided logistical support, including weapons, funds, and vehicles. However, the main shooter had remained absconding until now. According to police sources, two suspects — Ritik Yadav and Deepak — have been detained, though clarity is awaited on who exactly fired the shots. A press conference is expected to provide further details. Investigations have also brought up the name of Shubham Lonkar, allegedly linked to gangster Lawrence Bishnoi’s Maharashtra network. Authorities believe the attack may have been carried out under his direction. So far, 11 individuals have reportedly been detained during the broader probe. The accused will be brought to Mumbai on transit remand, and stringent charges including MCOCA are expected to be applied as the investigation expands.
