Breaking News: India Closely Monitoring Situation in Iran, MEA Issues Advisory as Indian Nationals Begin Returning

The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) has issued an important statement regarding the deteriorating situation in Iran, stating that India is closely monitoring developments in the country. According to the MEA, nearly 9,000 Indian nationals are currently present in Iran. In view of the prevailing unrest, the Government of India has issued an advisory asking Indian citizens to avoid traveling to Iran until further notice. The return process of Indian nationals from Iran has already begun and is expected to continue in the coming days. The MEA confirmed that multiple advisories were issued earlier, urging Indians residing in Iran to leave the country using available commercial flight options. These measures were taken amid reports of internal protests in Iran, largely driven by economic instability and public dissatisfaction with the government. Reports also indicate disruptions in internet and communication services in several parts of Iran, adding to concerns over safety and connectivity. While some returning Indians stated they did not face direct threats and described local conditions as largely peaceful for foreigners, the Indian government is taking precautionary steps to ensure the safety of its citizens.
