BMC Elections 2026: Amrita Fadnavis Credits Development Politics for BJP’s Historic Victory in Maharashtra

Speaking exclusively to ABP News after the BJP-led Mahayuti’s historic victory in Maharashtra, Amrita Fadnavis expressed happiness and gratitude, crediting Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership and Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis’s relentless efforts for the massive mandate. She said the results clearly show that voters—especially youth and women—have rejected divisive politics based on caste and region, and instead embraced politics of development, transparency, and good governance. Amrita Fadnavis highlighted infrastructure projects such as Metro rail, coastal roads, improved transport, and overall urban development as key factors behind BJP’s success, stating that people have witnessed visible positive change in their daily lives. On questions related to the opposition, she emphasized respecting the people’s mandate and urged all political parties to work together for development while constructively pointing out mistakes. Addressing speculation around political alliances, she remarked that recent opposition moves were driven by survival politics. Looking ahead, she said expectations from the “triple-engine government” — at the Centre, state, and municipal levels — should focus on improving quality of life through better healthcare, education, infrastructure, and safety.
