The ongoing deadlock between the government and the opposition in Parliament continues, but fresh efforts are being made to resolve the situation. A key meeting between Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju and opposition leaders is scheduled for 12:30 PM. The objective of the meeting is to restore dialogue between both sides and ensure that Parliament functions smoothly. However, at the same time, parties from the INDIA alliance have reportedly decided to move ahead with a no-confidence motion against Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla. Opposition parties have already signed the proposal letter, which is expected to be submitted to the Lok Sabha Secretariat shortly. The government is expected to try to persuade opposition leaders to reconsider and avoid escalating the confrontation. Meanwhile, another controversy has emerged over a video from 4 February 2026 shared by Kiren Rijiju. The video allegedly shows opposition women MPs creating a ruckus in the Lok Sabha and moving towards the benches where the Prime Minister sits, even reaching near Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s designated seat. BJP women MPs have written to the Speaker demanding action over the incident. The developments highlight the continuing tension and disruption in Parliament proceedings.
