Breaking News: Deadly Storms Kill 45 in UP as Rain, Lightning and Falling Trees Wreak Havoc

A powerful spell of storms, heavy rainfall, lightning strikes, and hailstorms has triggered widespread devastation across Uttar Pradesh, claiming at least 45 lives and leaving many others injured. The sudden change in weather created panic in several districts as fierce winds uprooted trees, damaged electricity infrastructure, disrupted railway movement, and caused major traffic blockages. According to reports, the highest number of deaths was recorded in Prayagraj where 17 people lost their lives during the severe weather conditions. Fatehpur reported nine deaths, while six fatalities were confirmed from Bhadohi. Five people each died in Badaun and Pratapgarh. Additional casualties were reported from Hardoi, Unnao, Sitapur, Raebareli and Kanpur Dehat. Disturbing visuals from different districts showed giant trees crashing onto roads and vehicles after being uprooted by the intense storm. In Unnao, a massive neem tree collapsed directly onto a car, badly damaging the vehicle. Similar scenes of destruction were witnessed in Gonda, Basti, and Badaun where falling trees and lightning strikes created chaos among residents. Many injured people have been admitted to hospitals as emergency response teams continue rescue and relief operations. Power outages and transportation disruptions have also affected daily life in multiple regions. Weather authorities have advised residents to remain alert, avoid sheltering under trees during storms, and closely follow official weather warnings as unstable conditions may continue in several districts of Uttar Pradesh.
