The Bharatiya Janata Party is set to formally usher in a new phase of leadership as Nitin Navin takes charge as its national president today. Ahead of the official announcement, Nitin Navin began the day by seeking blessings at prominent religious places in Delhi. He first visited the Jhandewalan Temple, and is scheduled to offer prayers at the Valmiki Temple, Hanuman Temple at Connaught Place, and later pay obeisance at Bangla Sahib Gurudwara. Nitin Navin’s temple visits are being seen as a symbolic start to his tenure, reflecting a blend of faith and tradition before assuming the party’s top organizational post. Heavy security arrangements were put in place as he left his MP residence and proceeded to the temples, while BJP workers gathered in large numbers to welcome him. The official announcement of his elevation as BJP’s national president is expected at 11:30 am at the party headquarters in Delhi. Senior BJP leaders, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, party chief J.P. Nadda, and chief ministers of BJP-ruled states are likely to be present. At 45, Nitin Navin is set to become the youngest national president of the BJP, marking what the party describes as the beginning of a “new era” focused on youth leadership, organizational strengthening, and future electoral challenges.
