In Uttar Pradesh, candidates of the 69,000 teacher recruitment case staged a dramatic protest, crawling on the road in extreme heat while moving toward the Education Minister’s residence. The protest is linked to a long-running dispute over alleged irregularities in the recruitment process, especially regarding reservation rules for OBC and SC candidates. The protesters claim that despite court victories, proper legal representation has not been provided by the government in higher courts, leading to prolonged delays in appointments over the past six years. They expressed deep frustration, saying their future has been ruined and demanding immediate justice. Police intervened and stopped the protesters before they could reach the minister’s residence. The candidates also made emotional statements describing their suffering and even said they feel degraded and neglected. The protest has once again intensified the political and social debate around the recruitment process and government accountability in the case.
