The mysterious death of model and corporate professional Tusha Sharma has triggered a major controversy, with her family rejecting suicide claims and accusing her in-laws of harassment and murder. Tusha, who had previously worked as a model, actress, and with a multinational company, was found hanging under suspicious circumstances on the night of May 12 in Bhopal. The 27-year-old had married Samarth Singh on December 12, 2025, just five months before her death. According to reports, the couple met through a dating app before getting married. After the wedding, Tusha shifted from Noida to Bhopal to live with her husband and his family. Tusha’s family claims she was mentally and emotionally tortured after marriage. Her mother alleged that Tusha had spoken to her shortly before her death, but the call disconnected abruptly when her husband entered the room. Hours later, the family received news of her death. The case has become more controversial after Tusha’s mother-in-law, a retired judge, reportedly described her as a drug addict in court documents filed for anticipatory bail. The family has strongly denied those allegations and accused the in-laws of attempting to malign Tusha’s image. The family also alleged delays in filing the FIR and raised questions over the handling of the investigation and postmortem process. Although the postmortem report reportedly confirmed death by hanging, Tusha’s relatives are demanding a second autopsy at AIIMS Delhi and seeking transfer of the case outside Bhopal for an independent probe. Police have now formed a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to investigate the case. Meanwhile, husband Samarth Singh remains absconding, and efforts are underway to trace him. The case continues to raise disturbing questions over whether Tusha’s death was suicide or part of a larger conspiracy.
