A tragic incident occurred in Alipur, Delhi, where four teenage boys drowned while bathing in the Yamuna River. According to eyewitness accounts, five friends had entered the river together, but one boy, identified as Lucky, managed to survive. The remaining four reportedly formed a chain by holding each other’s hands while entering the water. However, they lost their grip after slipping on rocks and were swept away by the river’s current. Rescue teams began search operations after the incident was reported on the previous evening. So far, the bodies of two children have been recovered, while the search for the remaining two continues. The victims were around 15 years old. Family members alleged that the police response was delayed and claimed timely action might have improved the chances of saving the children. They said officers asked them to leave the area instead of immediately carrying out an effective rescue operation. Authorities continue to conduct search and recovery efforts as the grieving families demand accountability and answers regarding the handling of the emergency.
