Breaking: Delhi-NCR Chokes as AQI Nears 500, Dense Fog Disrupts Flights and Traffic

Air pollution has once again worsened conditions in Delhi-NCR, creating serious health and travel challenges. Several areas in the capital, including Rohini and Wazirpur, recorded an Air Quality Index close to 500, placing them in the “severe” category. Pollution levels in Noida and Ghaziabad also remained critical. Due to hazardous air quality, schools across Delhi have been shifted to hybrid mode. Dense fog combined with pollution has reduced visibility, impacting road, rail, and air traffic. At Delhi airport, low visibility led to delays in around 169 flights. Roads across the city witnessed slow-moving vehicles, with drivers using headlights even during daytime. Authorities have enforced GRAP Stage IV restrictions as residents continue to struggle with toxic air and foggy conditions.
