Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie’s youngest daughter, Vivienne Jolie-Pitt is now the lates of the couple’s six children to filed a petition to drop ‘Pitt’ from her surname.According to reports on People, Vivienne went the legal route and approached the Los Angeles County Superior Court to legally remove ‘Pitt’ from her last name. She is now the latest Jolie-Pitt child to distance themselves from the actor by dropping his surname.According to court documents obtained, the 18-year-old is requesting that her legal name be changed from ‘Vivienne Marcheline Jolie-Pitt’ to ‘Vivienne Marcheline Jolie’. The reason for this change was simply listed as “personal.”A hearing on the petition has been scheduled for November 2.

Following siblings’ footsteps

Vivienne’s filing to drop her father’s surname comes months after her siblings, Zahara and Maddox, also went the legal route early this year to officially drop Pitt from their surname. In 2024, Shiloh filed a petition to change her name from Shiloh Nouvel Jolie-Pitt to Shiloh Jolie. The request was approved later that year.Meanwhile, Zahara has petitioned to legally change her name to Zahara Marley Jolie, while Maddox has requested that his legal name be changed to Maddox Chivan Jolie. Hearings for their petitions are scheduled for September 28 and September 14, respectively.

Although Vivienne has just been using ‘Jolie’ as her surname since 2024, this is her first legal move to officially change her name. She made headlines when she was credited as ‘Vivienne Jolie’ in the Playbill for the Broadway musical ‘The Outsiders’, which she helped produce alongside her mother.

Her legal filing comes just weks after she turned 18. Born in July 2008, Vivienne is one of the youngest children of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie. She and her twin brother, Knox, are the youngest among the former couple’s six children.
