The Delhi government has significantly expanded its Ayushman Arogya Mandir initiative, increasing the number of operational centres from 238 to 319 after adding 81 new facilities. These centres provide free medical services, including consultations, diagnostic tests, and medicines, to residents across the city. Under this program, comprehensive maternal and child healthcare services will be offered. Pregnant women can now receive full registration, prenatal check-ups, and delivery services free of cost, ensuring proper monitoring and care throughout pregnancy. Infants and children will benefit from free vaccinations and regular growth monitoring to ensure healthy development. In addition, the centres will screen and provide treatment for non-communicable diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, and heart conditions. Patients requiring advanced care that cannot be provided on-site will be timely referred to specialized medical facilities. The expansion aims to improve accessible, affordable, and preventive healthcare for Delhi’s residents. Officials emphasized that the initiative is a step towards inclusive healthcare, ensuring that people from all socio-economic backgrounds can receive quality medical attention without financial burden. With 319 centres now functional, Delhiites can expect enhanced coverage, better services, and a stronger public health safety net.
