Cold wave and dense fog have intensified across North India, increasing difficulties for people in several regions. An alert has been issued in Delhi along with 16 states, while Uttar Pradesh remains under a red alert for severe cold and fog. Punjab and Haryana are also witnessing dense fog, affecting visibility and daily life. According to the weather department, snowfall and rainfall in the hilly areas are pushing cold winds towards the plains, causing a continuous drop in temperatures. In Delhi-NCR, air pollution remains a major concern, with AQI levels crossing 400 in many areas. Poor visibility has disrupted traffic, and motorists have been advised to drive cautiously. No immediate relief is expected as cold and fog conditions are likely to persist in the coming days.
