Two tragic road accidents have shocked southern India. In Cuddalore, Tamil Nadu, a bus tyre burst led to a major accident, causing the bus to collide with two cars and resulting in heavy damage. Nine people lost their lives in the incident. Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin expressed condolences to the bereaved families and announced financial assistance of ₹3 lakh for each victim’s family. In a separate incident in Chitradurga, Karnataka, a sleeper bus collided with a truck late at night, triggering a massive explosion and thick black smoke. The crash claimed the lives of 12 passengers. Firefighting and rescue operations continued for several hours before the situation was brought under control. Authorities are investigating the causes of both accidents.
