Bihar Villagers Allege Electoral Roll Deletions, Demand Probe Ahead of Polls

A group of villagers in Bihar told they have been removed from the electoral roll and allege systematic voter deletions in their locality. Witnesses said they complied with verification requests and submitted identity documents, but months later their names were struck from the register citing absenteeism or migration. One resident who is disabled said he cannot travel for work yet his name was removed, leaving him unable to vote. Another villager, Mohammad, said his household entry in Dharampur was deleted despite repeated visits to the election office to correct the record. A woman named Ravi Kumar Yadav said officials recorded her as absent and then erased her name, and that many neighbours face the same fate. Observers and party workers claim these anomalies point to errors or deliberate manipulation and argue that the deletions disproportionately affect marginalised and vulnerable households. The complainants asked the Election Commission to investigate promptly and restore names before the next polling cycle. Election officials have not yet issued a formal comment, but the complainants said they will present further evidence after the vote count is complete. ABP News has recorded the testimonies and will continue to follow developments as authorities respond.
