Bihar Election 2025: JD(U) First List To Be Released Today, Nitish Kumar To Lead Campaign Amid NDA Tensions

Bihar’s political landscape is witnessing intense activity as the first phase of nominations approaches. JD(U) is set to release its first list of candidates today, with the second list expected tomorrow, signaling the formal launch of the election campaign. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar is personally taking charge of the campaign, planning rallies in Samastipur and Darbhanga, showcasing his direct involvement in the party’s electoral strategy. JD(U) Executive President Sanjay Jha emphasized that all decisions are being made under Nitish Kumar’s leadership and dismissed reports of internal discord as politically motivated.Meanwhile, tensions persist within the NDA over seat-sharing. Chirag Paswan, allotted 29 seats, faces adjustments with some seats on hold by the BJP, potentially leading to friendly contests with JD(U) in select constituencies. Upendra Kushwaha’s dissatisfaction over seat allocation, including Mahua, continues to draw attention. Sources indicate that despite attempts to pacify all allies, discussions and negotiations are ongoing to maintain alliance cohesion. On the opposition front, RJD remains firm on its stance that there will be no compromise on the Chief Ministerial face, highlighting a crucial sticking point for potential post-poll negotiations. Bihar’s electoral battles are set to intensify as campaigns officially kick off, with multiple stakeholders strategizing for decisive outcomes.
