BIG BREAKTHROUGH: Fourth Arrest in Lucknow Fire Case as Probe Uncovers Major Safety Violations

The investigation into the devastating Lucknow Aliganj fire tragedy has intensified with police making four arrests in connection with the incident that claimed 15 lives and left several others injured. Among those arrested are building owner Virendra Shukla, coaching centre operator Krishna Jaiswal, and pet shop owner Ram Krishna Upadhyay. Investigators have also revealed that the building allegedly lacked a valid Fire No Objection Certificate (NOC), raising serious questions about regulatory compliance and oversight. Exclusive visuals from inside the fire-ravaged structure paint a chilling picture of the destruction caused by the blaze. The ground floor, where a pet shop was operating, has been reduced to charred debris, with pet food products, medicines, equipment, and other materials completely destroyed. Officials suspect that the fire may have originated in this section before thick smoke rapidly spread through the upper floors. Investigators examining the building found extensive fire damage across multiple levels. Reports indicate that several occupants attempted to escape as smoke filled the premises, while some sought shelter in washrooms and enclosed spaces in a desperate effort to survive. Preliminary findings have also highlighted concerns regarding blocked escape routes, structural modifications, and inadequate emergency preparedness. Rescue teams reportedly broke glass panels and accessed multiple sections of the building during evacuation efforts. Authorities are also examining claims that access to the rooftop may have been restricted at a critical moment, potentially limiting escape options for those trapped inside. As forensic teams continue collecting evidence, the focus remains on determining accountability for the lapses that transformed a commercial establishment into a deadly trap, leaving 15 families mourning an irreversible loss.
