Ayodhya Ram Temple donation probe: RSS Breaks Silence, Calls for Tough Action in Ayodhya Temple Donation Probe

The investigation into the alleged misappropriation of donations at the Ayodhya Ram Temple has entered a crucial phase, with the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) issuing its first official response since the controversy emerged. RSS General Secretary Dattatreya Hosabale described the reported theft of offerings from the temple donation boxes as a deeply unfortunate incident that has hurt the faith and emotions of millions of devotees across the country. In a strongly worded statement, Hosabale said that anyone found guilty during the ongoing investigation must face strict legal punishment. He emphasized that accountability is essential to preserve public trust in one of India’s most revered religious institutions. The RSS also called for comprehensive corrective measures to strengthen administrative systems, eliminate operational loopholes, and ensure such incidents are never repeated. The statement acknowledged the Uttar Pradesh government’s decision to constitute a Special Investigation Team (SIT) following the request of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust. According to the RSS, the investigation should proceed transparently, and those responsible should be punished in accordance with the law. Hosabale further urged that confusion and speculation surrounding the case should come to an end through a credible investigation. He also appealed against attempts by vested interests to exploit the controversy for political or social polarization, stressing that the faith of devotees must remain protected. As the SIT continues examining financial records, digital evidence, and statements of individuals connected to the case, the RSS’s intervention marks a significant development. Its demand for decisive action underscores the importance of maintaining transparency, accountability, and public confidence in the management of religious institutions. The outcome of the investigation is expected to have far-reaching implications for governance standards and trust within temple administration.
