Atal Birth Anniversary: PM Modi, President Murmu Pay Tribute to Atal Bihari Vajpayee on His 101st Birth Anniversary

On the 101st birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Sadaiv Atal, Vajpayee’s memorial, to offer floral tributes. President Droupadi Murmu and several senior leaders were also present to honour the legendary statesman. Paying tribute on X, PM Modi said that Atal ji proved that excellence is defined not by position but by conduct, a value that continues to guide society. He highlighted Vajpayee’s lifelong dedication to good governance and nation-building. The memorial showcases Atal ji’s inspiring poetry, including the iconic line “Kadam milkar chalna hoga,” symbolising unity. A former journalist, poet, freedom fighter and the first Indian leader to address the UN in Hindi, Atal Bihari Vajpayee remains admired across party lines.
