Assam Visit: Amit Shah to Review India–Bangladesh Border Situation

Union Home Minister Amit Shah is on a visit to Assam today, where he will assess the situation in areas along the India–Bangladesh border. The visit is focused on reviewing border security arrangements, progress of fencing work, and measures taken to prevent infiltration. During the tour, Shah is expected to hold meetings with senior officials and security agencies to evaluate the current security framework in the border districts. He will also review the status of ongoing infrastructure projects aimed at strengthening surveillance and border management. The visit comes amid continued concerns over illegal infiltration and cross-border activities. Authorities are likely to brief the Home Minister on ground-level developments, challenges, and future strategies to enhance security in the sensitive border region.
