Turning Point USA host Alex Clark has accused Candace Owens of almost blaming Charlie Kirk’s close friends and mentors for his death. On November 9, 2025, Alex posted a long message on X saying that Candace’s words made it sound like people close to Charlie were behind his death. Alex Clark said Candace “stopped just short of outright accusing them of orchestrating his death.” Clark said this after giving an interview to The Wall Street Journal, where Candace Owens said her tone was “icky.” Alex said Candace wrongly claimed she was not sad about Charlie Kirk’s death and accused TPUSA of “using his death to push their mission.”

Candace Owens questions Tyler Robinson’s role in Charlie Kirk’s death

Alex Clark said Candace Owens has made many strange claims about Charlie Kirk’s death. Candace told CNN reporter Elle Reeve that she does not believe Tyler Robinson, the man police accused, killed Charlie Kirk. Candace Owens said, “I personally don’t believe that Tyler Robinson killed Charles Curtis.” She claimed she has “sources on both sides” who said there were “weird Fed messages” with no timestamps. Candace said this proves something is not right in the case. Elle Reeve then asked if Candace had any real proof. Candace Owens replied, “Discord came out and said the messages didn’t exist.” Reeve corrected her, saying the messages were text messages, not from Discord. Candace Owens admitted she had not read that part and said she had “leaks” as her source.Alex Clark then wrote that Candace was attacking people Charlie loved and trusted. “That was the start of Candace’s tirade against the very people Charlie called his closest friends and mentors. She’s stopped just short of outright accusing them of orchestrating his death.” Alex Clark also pointed out that Candace said she felt “icky” about the timing and tone of Alex’s Wall Street Journal interview but did not say the same about her own CNN interview. Alex said this showed double standards.Candace Owens has also spread wild theories about how Charlie was killed. In one of them, she said the killer may have used an underground tunnel to escape after shooting him.
